Greetings!

Welcome to the first issue of the Discover Freedom Newsletter! This newsletter will provide resources, inspire you, and help you discover the freedom of an organized personal and business life.

How does organization lead to freedom? As you become more organized at home and in your office, you feel in control of your life, you become less stressed and more productive, and you find more time for family activities, hobbies, and exercise. I truly believe that being organized can help you create a more meaningful life and become the person you were meant to be.

Heres to a New Year of being organized and discovering freedom!

Warmly,

cliffHere we are again the beginning of a new year when we resolve to improve our life. Unfortunately, we tend to start with plenty of enthusiasm and determination, then lose momentum as the year rolls on.

Here are 7 tips to set realistic New Years resolutions...and keep them:

1.       Set just a few goals If you set multiple goals, youll be pulled in too many directions and wont be able to focus on achieving all of them. Quality is better than quantity.

2.       Write down your goals and post them Keep a list of your goals where you will see them each day, such as on the refrigerator or bathroom mirror. By writing them down, you are making a commitment to yourself to follow through. And posting them helps you keep your goals uppermost in your mind.

3.       Tell others about your goals Your spouse, friends, or coworkers can be great allies in helping you reach your goals. Their support may provide motivation and accountability to help you succeed.

4.       Break your goals down into small steps It takes just a few moments to list the intermediate steps itll take to reach each goal. Aim to achieve your goals one step at a time.

5.       Schedule each step on your calendar Scheduling each step will help you achieve each goal. Otherwise, your goals are just a desired endpoint, with no road map of how to get there. For example, if your goal is to be healthier, you can schedule these steps:

  • Ill get a physical in January.

  • Ill exercise from 6 to 7 a.m. every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

  • Ill take a walk with my family every weekend.

  •  Ill get another physical at the end of the year.

6.       Be flexible Just because you have a bad week or arent moving toward your goals as quickly as youd like, dont give up on your goals. Recognize that some days are better than others and resolve to make tomorrow a better day. Just take it one day at a time.

7.       Celebrate your success For each goal you achieve, treat yourself to something that isnt a part of your daily life, such as an hour of quiet reading time, a special family outing, a massage...you get the idea!

Best wishes on achieving your New Years goals. As you can see, being organized can help make your life more meaningful and productive. If you need any help setting goals, scheduling the steps, or organizing your home or office, give us a call!

Manager with home office increases efficiency and effectiveness, clearing the way to achieve a career goal

manThe Situation: A regional manager for a disaster preparedness company, Patrick works at the companys office three days a week and works at home two days a week. Sounds like the perfect setup, right? Well, not for Patrick. His small home office was crammed with personal belongings and his desk was buried under papers. When he did file something, his important papers disappeared into the Bermuda Triangle of his unreliable filing system.

Worse, this office situation impacted his productivity, reputation, and relationships. He ran late for meetings, he never finished a project early, and he stayed up late to meet deadlines, missing out on family time. He wanted to become a certified Emergency Preparedness Manager but thought hed never have time to pursue this.

The Solution: We developed a three-prong strategy to help Patrick form new habits, organize his home office, and stay on track.  Click to read more about this month's success story...
